EF1 pylon comes to the UK
With the Electric flyer’s looking for an entry class and the Yanks once again having it all worked out, the decision has been taken to set up EF1 and adopt the latest EF1 rules from the nmpra. If you would like more info, start by taking a look at the rules Click Here to view the nmpra rules. Then get along to a race meet, we have 2 or 3 flyer’s who will be kicking off this class at the first meeting of the year, I’m sure that will change rapidly over the next few months when others get to see these great looking models fly. More to follow soon.

That video is a great find!!!
This was shot at the 1986 AMA Nats in Lake Charles, Louisiana. I know as I was there.
Early on in the video you see Nancy Rutherford carrying a white F3D model, that is my model, it was extreme and fast for the time, done 80 seconds at that meeting. You also see the Richmond brothers and Dub Jett fiddling with an F3D model early in the video, this meeting was the first time that they flew F3D and they were experimenting prior to the 1987 World Champs which they won in style.
The Little Toni models Bruce refers to were in fact built by Shadel for Paul Bowman who was a big spender in UK pylon racing back then. I bought both models from Paul unflown, Bill and Nancy had one and I had the other. I did not have the Toni in Lake Charles, I left it at home. I flew the F3D model that I mentioned earlier and a brand new DeNight Special in Formula 1, the wings snapped on both models.
